Traditional drum roaster

Some lovely e-mails we have received (THANKS!):

"Helen and I have just completed a barista training course with Youri at Absolute Coffee in Halifax.Despite the snow and a late arrival we were immediately impressed by the Coffee House and the warmth of the greeting. We had bought our first Gaggia machine a few months earlier, but were a little dubious about what we were doing. My friend Paul recommended Youri, and we are very grateful to him for that.We are both beginners in the magical art of making proper coffee, and when we tasted the first cappuchino made by Youri we realised that a whole new world of coffee pleasure was opening up. Four hours of watching, tasting, and making ourselves, provided a very satisfying learning experience. We thoroughly recommend Youri and Absolute Coffee, though I think we will need a bit more practice to reach his standards" - Bernard and Helen

"I was given coffee training at home as a Christmas present. It was great to be trained on my own machine (rancilio silvia / rocky) so I could be confident I'd be able to keep on getting the same results. We started with me copying the basic steps for making espresso and we moved onto milk frothing and latte art. Just changing a few details has made a big difference to the coffee I make. I thought the latte art would just be for interest but even after a few go's I was surprised how well it was coming out - not going to win any prizes but still good fun to do. Overall I got everything I wanted out of the training and would highly recommend it. " - Peter Roots

"I feel that I am lucky when I found Absolute Coffee. They helped me a lot in the field of consultancy, training and purchase of products and electrical appliances. Punctuality was one of the most important criteria that I was searching for. It has been found in the Absolute Coffee staff. Friendly family atmosphere is what attract me to deal with them in the future. It's really a unique experience for me as an international customer coming from Saudi Arabia. " - Umar Muzaini

Barista training"My partner and I had a wonderful Valentine's Barista training session at Absolute Coffee last Sunday in Halifax. Our trainer, Youri, was very friendly and taught us all about the coffee making process with infectious enthusiasm and good humour. After a very interesting talk-through on the lifecycle of coffee from the bean to the cup we got stuck in and started making our first espressos.

Due to Youri's very clear instruction and explanation on what makes a great espresso, we were pulling great shots in no time at all, with all our handiwork captured on Youri's camera!
Once Youri was happy that we had a good grasp of pulling consistent shots, we moved on to milk based drinks and were both delighted with the results we were getting. The day finished with us giving a good deal of time trying to perfect our Latté Art hearts...very appropriate for the day that was in it! We would thoroughly recommend the Barista training course to anyone who has an interest in learning how to make wonderful coffee.

Thank you again,
Cian & Niamh"
