Are coffee grinders important?

Yes! Extremely important.

The importance of coffee grinders is often misunderstood. Coffee grinders make such a big difference in the quality of the coffee. They make sure that the coffee is correctly ground and yes, there is a difference in quality of ground coffee between coffee grinders.

The coffee grinder also counts for consistency and dosing. Dosing is one of the most important things in preparing an espresso and the way the coffee grinder doses the coffee is very important.

Do you sell grind on demand coffee grinders, the ones that grind directly into the group handle?

We certainly do. You have the choice of various grind on demand grinder. The Mahlkonig Vario and K30 are a popular choice but we also sell Anfim Caimano grind on demand coffee grinders. One new and very good coffee grinder is the Mahlkonig ProM.

Our favourite coffee grinder must be the Anfim Caimano Grind on Demand with Doser. This is just a fantastic grinder. You can program the grinder to grind for a certain amount of time to give you the correct dose. Then you simply dose it into the group handle and off you go. No waste, no left over coffee grounds going stale and still the traditional way of coffee making (but then a little better).

SAB JollyWe have a new machine on offer and is now on display at our training centre in Halifax. We are using this for the training courses and actually really like. Great price and very easy to use.

Barista training"My partner and I had a wonderful Valentine's Barista training session at Absolute Coffee last Sunday in Halifax. Our trainer, Youri, was very friendly and taught us all about the coffee making process with infectious enthusiasm and good humour. After a very interesting talk-through on the lifecycle of coffee from the bean to the cup we got stuck in and started making our first espressos.

Due to Youri's very clear instruction and explanation on what makes a great espresso, we were pulling great shots in no time at all, with all our handiwork captured on Youri's camera!
Once Youri was happy that we had a good grasp of pulling consistent shots, we moved on to milk based drinks and were both delighted with the results we were getting. The day finished with us giving a good deal of time trying to perfect our Latté Art hearts...very appropriate for the day that was in it! We would thoroughly recommend the Barista training course to anyone who has an interest in learning how to make wonderful coffee.
