Coffee roasting

Roasting coffee is an art and we believe that we have become quite good at it. The roastery of Absolute Coffee has been around for 130 years, and this not for no reason.

Our roastery has established reliable relationships with coffee farms worldwide giving us the option to all different kinds of coffees. This experience also allows us to offer Fairtrade and Organic coffees as well as the famous Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee.

All the coffee that is roasted for Absolute Coffee customers is roasted to order. This means that we do not store large amounts of coffee in our warehouse. The coffee is as fresh as it will ever be. Coffee loses its flavor days after roasting and this is even more noticeable with espresso based coffees.

All the coffees roasted by Absolute Coffee have a roasting date on the packaging. We are proud to label this and it gives our customers the full confidence that the coffee is absolutely fresh.

Small batches equals consistency

Most coffee roasters will roast large amount of coffee at a time. Absolute Coffee roasts only small batches of coffee, maximum of 20kg, which gives a very consistent roast.

The coffee that comes out of the roaster leaves the roaster within a few seconds. This means that all the coffee is roasted within the same amount of time: the first bean and the last bean are roasted pretty much the same. Larger roasters have a bigger drum which can mean that the last bean leaving the roaster is roasted darker than the first bean. This will obviously give inconsistent coffees, something that doesn't happen with our coffees.

Roasted by a human being

Our roastery uses the latest technology in coffee roasting and has unique software that is only used by a handful of people in the whole world. This software is connected to the roaster and gives a lot of information regarding the roast.

We believe in computers and technology but don't rely on it a 100%. Every roast is carefully monitored by an experienced roaster (at least 9 years of experience in roasting) and is always under control.
